Sue Malkin studied Fine Art at Leeds Universlty, developing a strong interest in figurative work and concentrating on studying from the life-model.
After a postgraduate teaching qualification she taught art for eleven years in secondary and further education, becoming a head of department.
A move to Grenoble in France gave her opportunities for exhibiting for which she gained many awards. She also taught many workshops and courses in her studio during her nine years there.
After returning to the UK in 1994, she has exhibited almost continuously in solo shows and group exhibitions in public and private galleries. Sue has participated many times in Open Studios events, and was a chairman and committee member of Network Artists Northumberland: she has continued to give workshops in life-drawing and drawing skills.
She now lives in Cheshire and is a member of Cheshire Artists Network.
